By the time you get to read this, Christmas will all be over but we still have a lot to look forward to with our action packed New Year Meet . I would like to take this opportunity to wish all of you a very happy Christmas and a prosperous and a healthy New Year.
Several of us attended the Yorkshire Region dinner dance at Carlton Towers in November and as usual it was a lovely evening. The event was being filmed for Sky television by Landmark Films and we think that the programme will be aired in the early spring.
I am pleased to inform you that Carolyn Armitage was elected once again as H.D.A. Treasurer for another year and that Lesley and Vince O’Neill were also re-elected as our Youth Officers .
Tony Fuller has said that he does not wish to stand for the committee for the following year; this will leave several key positions vacant on the committee, namely PRO, Events Co-Ordinator and Catering Officer . These are subject to change as the committee positions are not actually given until the meeting following the AGM . We always welcome new people on our committee so if you think you might be interested why not give it a go .
I would like to extend my congratulations to Daniel Pearson and his partner Stacey and to Michaela and Chris Duffy ; both couples are expecting the patter of little feet in the spring. I’m sure Sue and Gary and Mike and Bernie can’t wait to be grandparents – it’s such an exciting time . Also, Julie Coley our Secretary celebrated her 50th in December and Doreen Hopkin will be the grand not so old age of 70 in January (they do say that 70 is the new 50…..) so, happy birthday to both of you from all at H.D.A.
Well, I’ll sign off now and get ready to help kick off our New Year celebrations.
