As we enter into the final phase of the 2016, we have a hectic time ahead! But first I must mention our meet at Thornton Hall Country Park at the beginning of the month.
On the Saturday, 17 of our younger members attended a treat which included a whole host of activities including animal petting and feeding, slides and rides and a super tea inside the activity barn.
I think parents and grandparents enjoyed themselves equally too!! Thanks go to Christine & Bernie for arranging this – the faces of the children on the day said it all.
This edition will be published for distribution at Scarborough Club Site where we are for a 5 day meet taking advantage of the clubs new offer of allowing DA’s to use the facilities at a much reduced price than the advertised prices.
We also have coming up the annual bonfire meet at Marsden, with bonfire night actually falling on November 5th. There will be Guy Fawkes and Lantern competitions and we will be having a small controlled bonfire together with an organised firework display.
A traditional Pie & Pea supper afterwards in the clubhouse. Booking is required via John Inman.
Our very popular November meet in York is virtually full (as I write this) and a social is to be held upstairs in the County Stand on Saturday Night.
As we move into December we will hold our dinner Dance at Elland Cricket Club and to date we have a fantastic 68 people already booked, an attendance figure we haven’t had for a number of years! Camping is available both nights for £15 which may be the attraction when you consider the cost of taxis and hotel bills! Please let John Inman know if you intend to camp.
Again we will see the New Year in at Storthes Hall where you may attend for the 3, 4 or 5 days to suit your circumstances a number of suggestions have already been muted for the theme and entertainment over this meet!! However it does not stop there!………
Michael & Phil have produced our sites list for 2018 and a host of new venues are planned for next year, along with some traditional favourites.
They will be looking for stewards to make those meets possible so please consider stewarding at least one of them when he comes round with the list. It’s not difficult and help is always on hand!
Finally, We must congratulate James & Naomi Lockwood on the birth of our newest member Georgia Rose.
Her arrival has meant that Naomi will no longer have time (or the concentration due to sleep depravation) required to undertake the role of Treasurer and Christine Wood kindly offered to take up the cash book yet again!
This has coincided well as we have to re-appoint the Treasure annually before the second week in November.
And Finally, Finally…… Another appointment we have to make each year is that of Youth Leaders and Chris & Michaela Duffy have offered their services again for another year.
Hopefully we may have some more youth for them next year….???
