News from the Chair
Hi Everyone
I hope you are all fighting fit and raring to go as our new camping year springs into action.
January got off to a good start with our photographic evening and birthday celebrations for John and Margaret Inman at Copley Cricket Club. I have to mention this as I managed to steal both trophies again this year. As the standard of the entries gets better, Chris comes up with yet another difficult challenge for us all. This coming year, the theme is “Humour” what will he be looking for?
As we prepare for our AGM we will once again be inviting a representative from The Forget – Me – Knot Trust – a local children′ s hospice to receive a cheque from us. We have raised a fantastic £664 this year for this charity. Thank you for all your support and efforts over the year with this!
As already said, our AGM is fast approaching causing me reflect on my first year as Chair. It has been an exciting year full of new challenges to face and the opportunity to “Try Something New”. After 13 years as Events Co-Ordinator the hardest part for me was to step aside and let Sue take ownership of her new role. I′m sure you′ll all agree that after the brilliant time we had at New Year, she has well and truly stepped into my shoes.
It goes without saying that our whole committee is totally dedicated to offering all of our members the very best camping experience they can.
Well, I′m going now as I need to save something to say to you all at the AGM (my next big hurdle?). I look forward to seeing you all there and would like to take this opportunity to encourage some of you who may have an interest in joining the committee to come forward and give it a go.
