Hopefully, as you read this it should be our Firework’s Meet, almost one of the last of our camping year. There are however two brilliant meets left, the York Christmas Shopping Meet which has to be one of my favourites and our New Year Meet at Storthes Hall.
York sees the start of the Christmas celebrations with some early Christmas shopping amidst a seasonal setting second to none. Don’t delay, Doreen is taking bookings, both Meets are extremely popular and space is limited.
This leads on to our dinner dance; with a different venue from last year, we are returning Durkar Roods at Meltham which has been recently taken over and refurbished and is serving up a mouthwatering menu.
The usual subsidies still apply however, as the weather has been so bad this year and we have had to cancel on 2 occasions we have given everyone Pugney’s and Thorpe to make things fair.
Our Harvest Festival which we held at Rufforth was a really good night, raising £80.00 for our nominated charity “The Forget-Me-Not Trust”. Thanks to Vince and Peter for being auctioneer and cooking supper respectively….
Finally, after having a tidy up, I came across this old photo –yes, that’s me when I was about two or three years old with my mum who’s now eighty seven…We were camping in Edinburgh –my dad liked fishing so we always went up to Scotland.
