I’d like to welcome you all back after the long summer break and take the opportunity to thank all of our stewards who worked so hard at our THS’s this year. We all know that they do a tremendous job and we couldn’t manage without them.
Peter and I had a great holiday this year venturing to pastures new. We went to Germany for our holidays, spending the first part in Bavaria which was stunning. We stayed on a lovely campsite on the shores of Lake Ammersee, just south of Munich and were the only English family there. This was Cassie’s first trip abroad and she was as good as gold- there were no problems at all and she was made welcome in most places, even in the shops! For any of you who don’t know, Cassie is our Springer Spaniel who is now quite an old lady…. One of the highlights of our trip was a visit to the fairy tale castle of Neuschwanstein – the castle made famous as the Disney castle. It was really beautiful and well worth the journey.
As you know, we have no events co-ordinator at the moment so I have included details of our Christmas Dinner Dance, once again to be held at Durkar Roods in this edition of the Ram’s Head. Thanks to Nick and Carolyn for getting me the menus. If you would like to come to the meal, could you please let me have your payment as well as your meal choices. I would like this sorted out by our meet at Rufforth which is the weekend of the 11th – 13th October. I might be out of action for a while as I have to have an operation soon, as yet, I don’t know the date, but I will be a bit limited in what I can do for a few weeks.
I’m looking forward to seeing you all soon and catching up with all the gossip and details of your summer holidays – it seems a long time since our last meet before the holidays.
